WELCOME TO THE BEAUTIFUL CHABLÉ MAROMA: Located in the heart of Mexico’s Riviera Maya, Chablé Maroma offers its guests a well-being experience unlike any other. The resort is just 35 minutes south of the Cancun Airport, and yet it could not seem further away from the vibrant nightlife of the Riviera Maya.

BEYOND DESCRIPTION

Once you step foot into Chablé Maroma, you are transported to the ultimate spot for rest and relaxation. The five-star beach resort is idyllically set between a lush tropical jungle with thick mangroves and the clear, sparkling Caribbean with its wide, peaceful beach. On-site are 70 energy-efficient, luxurious and spacious villas built of stone from Xucun Village, with thatched roofs and marble from La Galarza. Making for the ultimate oceanside getaway, each villa comes with its own private pool, as well as a large, shady outdoor terrace with a hammock. All villas are decorated in a neutral and earthy palette with original designs by Mexican artists and palm weavings from Ayotzinapa. Spacious bathrooms incorporate outdoor rain showers, handcrafted ceramic double-sink vanities and lavish Paulina Moran woven linens. The floors and ceilings are crafted from rich woods and glass walls fully open to bring the local flora inside. Two stately Presidential Villas with close to 6,000 square feet have three bedrooms, a private pool, an outdoor dining room, and living area, as well as an indoor formal dining and living room. All of the crucial minibar beverages are complimentary. And the best part of the villas? They’re just a short walk from the 650-foot private beach with calm turquoise waters. This stretch of beach has a reputation as one of the world’s most beautiful and it has views of the world’s second largest reef. Two placid pools are available for resort guests, one is a heated infinity pool overlooking Playa Maroma. An oceanside yoga pavilion offers a calming meditation classes as well as renewing yoga classes. Lush gardens with Ceiba trees, which were admired by the Mayan culture as the bridge between Heaven and Earth, surround the resort along with numerous walking trails. Guests can also partake in kayaking, paddle boarding, catamaran sailing, kitesurfing, local cultural adventures, and jungle tours. The resort believes in respecting the environment, so guests may notice the emphasis that was placed on preserving the natural landscape. “The landscaping was designed around the mangrove plants with respect to the wetlands, and special engineering throughout the grounds keeps the water moving to preserve wildlife in the mangrove,” says Nicholas Dominguez, the chief operating officer at Hamak Hotels. All water used on property comes from a system that produces and recycles all the water at the resort. Wastewater is treated and used for irrigation. Pathways around the resort were designed to limit vehicles and Chablé Maroma is proud to be a plastic-free resort.

THE HEALING PATH

In keeping with Chablé Maroma’s motto, “Redefining Wellness,” the resort features an impressive adults only, 17,000-squarefoot spa. The spa has two single spa rooms, five double treatment rooms, eight massage rooms, a hydrotherapy room, plunge pool, a Jacuzzi and steam room. A fitness center has the latest Technogym equipment. The treatment menu is inspired by nature to honor the Mayan restoration tradition by harmonizing techniques and ingredients developed by science to restore and nurture the soul, as well as the body. Dominguez says that “Each treatment is created to take guests on a spiritual journey, where the experience is more than just about a massage, but also about the mind and soul.” One unique treatment offered to guests is the Temazcal Ritual. A temazcal is a small domed sauna that hosts a ceremony with the help of a trained Temazcalero. This ceremony’s intention is to get closer to nature and the inner self. The Deep Forest Awakening is a 180-minute Chablé signature ritual treatment that draws support and nourishment from trees in order to create positive change in the body, mind, and spirit. This full-body purification treatment reinvigorates and stimulates the skin’s own regeneration with rosemary and re-mineralizing sea salt. The lymphatic system is cleansed with purifying essential oils from balsam fir, juniper, and cypress trees. A deep connective tissue massage will aid in relaxing the body and warmed gem stones will help to destress. The treatment ends with a signature aromatic anointment with oils of citrus and frankincense to promote enlightening and enlivening. The 120-minute Floral Adornment Ritual features a combination of herbal preparations, floral elixirs, and traditional remedies. A specially designed skin treatment is created from a blend of clay, coffee, and tobacco to exfoliate and nourish the skin. Next, a mix of flower petals and oils of arnica, rosemary, basil, and laurel combine to create an aromatic blend that is known to ease pain, boost circulation, and diminish inflammation. Afterwards, a stone massage helps release toxins and stagnant energy as well as promote grounded stability. At the end of this exclusive treatment, a rejuvenating facial helps to restore balance and vitality.

NOURISHMENT FROM WITHIN

The Redefining Wellness experience continues throughout the entire resort with a variety of phenomenal culinary offerings by renowned Mexican chef, Jorge Vallejo, who trained at Copenhagen’s legendary Noma. Chef Vallejo’s restaurant, Quintonil, in Mexico City was on San Pellegrino’s 2018 list of the Best Restaurants in the world. Seasonal, local, and organic ingredients are at the forefront of all dishes created at Chablé Maroma by Vallejo’s protégé and Executive Chef Luis Ronzon. Bu’ul serves contemporary, innovative, and creative Mexican cuisine with ingredients from central and southern Mexico. Local fishermen bring the latest catch and the resort’s own garden provides ingredients to be cooked up the same day. The decor is cosmopolitan and the view is of the breathtaking oceanscape. Here you can find regional delicacies such as chili-inflamed relleno negro stew, lobster with habañero, and roasted fresh line-caught boquinete. Bu’ul also has one of the most magnificent and extensive wine cellars of the Mayan Riviera.  Kaban is another exceptional dining choice with a more laid back atmosphere. This casual, nautical inspired poolside eatery is the perfect spot to start your day with a classic Mexican breakfast. Freshly caught seafood is a staple of many of the dishes and the omelet station is worth experiencing for memorable recipes. Plan to dine on a delicious assortment of pastas, risottos, salads, and flatbreads.  At the Raw Bar, guests are served tapas style plates of oysters, fish and mango ceviche, octopus tacos, prawns, stone crab, and other ocean treasures with sauces made from scratch. Cocktails made with high-quality mezcal and tequila feature fresh homegrown herbs and fruits. This intimate rooftop terrace location offers spectacular ocean views and is a perfect way to wind down after a day of exploring the local area.  Whichever restaurant you choose, you are guaranteed to experience a meal that pushes gastronomic boundaries.
