There is No Place Like it on the Face of the Earth

A little over 8 million people live here. More than 800 languages are spoken here. The first pizzeria in the United States opened here in 1895. It is home to the United Nations headquarters.

There are so many reasons to love New York City — from the grand architecture, delectable food, and celebrated entertainment to its legendary attractions and melting pot of cultures. And should you still need a couple more great reasons to visit the Big Apple, The Langham New York and the Concorde hotels should do it.

THE LANGHAM NEW YORK
Located conveniently between Bryant Park and the Empire State Building, The Langham New York is the ultimate hotel for contemporary luxury. Nestled off 5th Avenue in one of the city’s most coveted areas, Midtown Manhattan, the hotel was built in 2010 and opened to rave reviews.

This hotel’s location is truly at the crossroads of art, fashion and design. A short nine-minute walk will lead you to the iconic and opulent Grand Central Terminal and the glitz and glamour of Times Square, the renowned attractions of Rockefeller Center, and the lush gardens of Bryant Park. The prime location puts its guests near the New York Public Library as well.

A soaring grid of concrete, limestone, and glass, The Langham New York towers 57 stories into the city skyline. The first 27 floors are occupied by the hotel while the remaining floors are luxury private residences. As soon as you step into the lobby you are welcomed by the signature scent of The Langham Hotel Group. This delectable scent is an intoxicating blend of soft pink roses and fresh ginger flower.

The chic and newly renovated lobby, located on the ground floor, features two massive oil paintings, titled Trio, by Alex Katz behind the check-in desk. The colorful paintings show the profiles of six people which appear as a reflection of the hustle and bustle of the people walking by the large floor to ceiling windows on Fifth Avenue. Katz’s artwork can also be found throughout the hotel as it is showcased to bring the liveliness and vibrancy of New York City inside. The centerpiece of the lobby, a dramatic and flowing winding staircase, is the perfect complement to the modern aura.

Comprising of 157 sleek guest rooms and 57 ultra-lavish suites, The Langham New York embodies the epitome of metropolitan elegance and sophistication. The stylish and spacious accommodations are all well-appointed and adorned in serene shades of beige, accentuated by rich premium Italian walnut wood. Plush thick carpeting along with dark auburn rosewood flooring initiates a sense of subdued ambiance. The simple room décor feels clean and uncluttered. Many rooms have large floor to ceiling windows which open to let in fresh air and that offer awe-inspiring views of the nearby Empire State Building or of the iconic Manhattan skyline. The luxurious bathrooms are marble-clad, feature a rainfall shower, deep soaking tub, and bathroom mirror with built in TV. Luxurious Swedish DUXIANA® beds with crisp white Italian linens ensure that you get a great night’s sleep. Flat-screen TVs, complimentary Wi-Fi, Nespresso coffee makers, bottles water at turndown, built in safes, as well as robes and slippers are all standard. One fantastic perk for all hotel guests is complimentary use of the house car, a chauffeured Jaguar XJL, within 20 streets of the hotel.

Located on the hotel’s 27th floor is the crème de la crème of The Langham New York’s accommodations, the Empire State Presidential Suite. Designed by French interior designer Roche Bobois, this extravagant suite offers an astounding 1,900 square feet and dramatic full-length views of the Empire State Building. Along with all of the standard luxury offerings, this suite has exclusive culinary offerings from a private chef from award-winning restaurant Ai Fiori, a curated mini-bar and pantry from Chef Michael White, a fully equipped kitchen with top of the line Miele appliances, private laundry facilities, spacious living room area, and two individual bedrooms with two king-sized beds. It can also be adjoined with multiple other guest rooms for the ultimate family getaway.

The Langham New York is home to world-renowned Altamarea Group and acclaimed chef Michael White’s Ai Fiori. This Michelin Star restaurant, located on the hotel’s second floor, just a short walk up the lobby’s winding staircase, serves cutting-edge Mediterranean cuisine from the French and Italian Rivieras. Translated to “Among the Flowers” in Italian, Ai Fiori is sophisticated and magical. Known for its impressive floral arrangements, the décor is a true reflection of its name. The menu offers something for everyone from à la carte dining to prix-fixe and tasting menu options for both lunch and dinner. Signature homemade pastas along with local and seasonal ingredients complement traditional regional dishes inspired by land and sea. One dish not to be missed is the Astice, butter-poached Nova Scotia lobster served with confit leeks and black trumpet mushrooms. The wine list is equally impressive with over 2,000 selections and an inventory of more than 11,000 bottles. Bar Fiori serves unique craft cocktails with a dedicated bar menu and more casual setting. Chef Michael White’s award-winning White Label Burger is not to be missed. The hotel also has a 2,000-square-foot fitness center with Technogym Excite equipment, as well as its signature spa, Chuan Body + Soul. Chuan Body + Soul offers treatments inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine and unique treatments created in collaboration with Kerstin Florian. The calm and peaceful ambiance will leave you ready to conquer the city.

CONCORDE HOTEL NEW YORK
For the first time in over two decades, the former British Airways-affiliated hotel is once again welcoming guests, now as Midtown East’s newest chic boutique hotel known as the Concorde Hotel New York. The hotel’s tall and slender building was designed by Anthony M. Salvati and completed in 1984. Originally intended as condominiums, it was one of the last sliver-style buildings built in Manhattan. Eventually the building was sold to British Airways in 1990 to lodge British Airways employees and crew members. In 2018, the hotel opened to the public.

Since the building was originally slated to be condominiums, the hotel’s 37 floors have no more than four rooms per floor. The soundproof rooms and suites are spacious, modern, and comfortable, sublimely decorated in order to provide a space that is as eye pleasing as it is relaxing. All accommodations are well equipped with all the amenities that a contemporary traveler may need in their temporary home away from home. Blackout curtains and deluxe pillow top mattresses ensure a good night’s rest is
had. Each room features a desk, complimentary high-speed wireless and wired Internet, large 50-inch flat-screen HDTVs, satellite cable television programming, Molton Brown toiletries, fully-stocked mini refrigerator, iron and ironing board, in-room safe, complimentary Nespresso beverage system, and iHome clock radio with Bluetooth and USB port. Furthermore, thanks to the hotel’s height and location, some of the most iconic landmarks in New York City such as the Chrysler Building, Central Synagogue, the East River, and the Queensboro Bridge are visible from some rooms.

The Ambassador Suite is the largest and most luxurious suite the hotel offers. Stunning views of the New York City skyline can be seen through large oversized windows. This suite, located on the 37th floor, is contemporarily designed with over 1,100 square feet. Two bedrooms, three bathrooms, separate living room with plush leather sofa, and a fully-equipped modern kitchen with Miele appliances makes this the ultimate retreat. For the utmost security and privacy, the entire 37th floor can be locked so that only you and your chosen guests may even reach the penthouse level.

Guests of the Concorde Hotel New York can also take advantage of the many concierge services offered. A multilingual staff is available to assist with car service and transportation, tour planning, show tickets, shopping recommendations, restaurant reservations, directions, sightseeing recommendations, and more. A business center, printing and mail services, and a 24-hour fitness center are also available on-site.

When it comes to great dining, a foodie heaven is waiting just outside the hotel’s front doors. Grab a quick slice of one of NYC’s finest pizzas from Roberta’s pizza. Chef Geoffrey Zakarian brings his vision of a contemporary NYC Grand Café to life at The National. World famous Smith & Wollensky serves up some of the best steaks in America. Japanese restaurant Unagi-Ya Hachibei is known for its signature grilled eel. And for the perfect date night, head to Aburiya Kinnosuke for an intimate setting with dark mahogany wood, mood lighting, and inventive comfort food. With so many choices, you won’t go hungry!

Centrally located on East 55th Street, the 37-story Concorde Hotel New York is within walking distance to many of the city’s most iconic attractions. The Museum of Modern Art, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and Carnegie Hall are just mere blocks away. The East River, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, Central Park, and Grand Central Terminal are also just a short walk from the hotel. Spend the day shopping some of the city’s most luxurious retailers such as Apple, Prada, Tiffany & Co., and Bergdorf Goodman’s on Madison and Fifth Avenues. One can also find some of the best restaurants and bars in Manhattan in neighborhoods such as Murray Hill and Lenox Hill. A train station is nearby for easy access to the rest of the area.
